[WPXperVideo id=59 ]How to upgrade / repair the hard disk drive on your Dell Latitude E5440
[WPXperVideo id=48 ]hey guys a Steve on the guru brew you know one of the most requested things that we do here at the computer repair shop is to restore computers to their factory default settings you know a twist of this is often customers have pictures and music on their computer that they want saved before we do this because once you restore a computer back you lose all this stuff it’s deleted in the process so we must save that data before we go ahead and do the restore so I’m going to show you how to do that this edition of the Guru broom this is done on a dull laptop so stay tuned for that well this is the Dell laptop that I was telling you about one of my customers recently brought me this computer in because she was on a vacation recently and she was using the Wi-Fi in the hotel rooms and shortly after that started noticing strange windows popping up and things just act and unusual so she brought it to me to remove all this junk out of there and return it to its former glory so let’s go ahead and turn this on and see what we’re dealing with here this is the Dell Inspiron n5o for old laptop it has Windows 7 it’s um it’s got the AI core processor in telling her she also said it was quite a bit slower ok she’s provided me with the password so I’ll be back after I type that in ok I just put the password in somewhat down all right away there’s a window popping up here this is an optimizer pearl performance monitor oh look there’s another one yuuna blue speed up my PC the girl knows icon she has on the desktop holy smokes so let’s just cancel out of here and see what happens this thing’s still here it’s probably waiting for an internet connection now I should have mentioned when I start repairing these I disconnect it from the Wi-Fi and I don’t have any Ethernet cable on here because I don’t want it connecting with the Internet at all so hopefully and I’ll just give up yep it gave up and it’s going into all kinds of stuff here yeah I see why she brought me this computer it’s annoying me already and we just got started who is this attention 37 registry errors yeah well you’re probably one of the Proms close that all up before you exit Oh annoying is that and it’s stolen maybe going with that this is called unit unit blue speed up my PC 2013 I don’t think this company is doing so well otherwise they won’t be doing this to people here’s that purchase now okay well I finally got rid of the pop-up until I launched the internet they’ll probably they’ll probably more anyway it doesn’t look like anything’s damaged here you know at first glance it just looks like there’s some nuisances happening and who knows maybe they changed their front page to her Internet Explorer and that sort of thing I don’t know okay to get saving her dad I’m going to come down here to the Start menu click on it and in this little search box here I’m going to type in Windows Easy Transfer and you’ll see it came up right up here up at the top I’m going to go and click on it and this is the program we’re going to use to move all her dad over and you can see all the things that will be transferred the documents music pictures email everything she wants in the nice thing about this transfer is it doesn’t transfer viruses so we’re going to go ahead and click Next on this here next and then it’s asking me how I want to transfer out now if you have a cable you can use the top one there you could pull it over a network but usually the one I like to do is this last one which is an external one you can use either a flash drive or you can using a portable hard drive and that’s what I have over here on the table this is my homemade hard drive let’s it’s a big beast but it works well I plug it into the USB here I’m not going to plug this in just yet though click on this last one here and then this is my old computer click and it’s looking for the accounts that this computer has on it and you can see that there’s a shared as well as the barb folder there at the top so it’s going to take a few minutes to estimate how much disk space I’m going to need and it’s also checking to see what files can be transferred and you can see it’s already come up with the answers here and I’m going to need at least five point eight gigabyte to transfer all these files so make sure that you have that available on a flash drive or a portable hard drive before you click Next okay go ahead and click Next and this gives you the opportunity to put a password in if you’d like to do that it’s just a password to protect the archive I don’t usually use it though let’s go ahead and hit save and it’s popped up this window and it’s asking me where I want it to save it to and here’s where you would put in your flash drive while plugging your portable hard drive which I’m going to do now turn this on plug it in waiting for it to come up here there it is there’s a backup Drive there so I can go ahead and click on this and I can get safe here now you can see it’s it’s going to go ahead and save it off on my portable hard drive or flash drive or whatever you’re using and it’s going to take some time those bars are moving quite slow so you just have to be patient and it’ll eventually give you an estimate up here how long it’s going to take but it’s going to run for a while that’s got five point eight gig so it’s it’s going to take little time so just be patient with that I’ll be back as soon as something else happens okay well as you can see these files have been saved in there they are the green checkmark which means they’re done so I’m just going to come up here and click next here and it’s just telling me what to do when I’m ready to put the files back on the new install and you can read that if you want sit nice and shut this close button okay everything is now saved on my external hard drive or flash drive depending on what you use so go ahead and disconnect that and put it in safe place for later and what we’re going to do now is we’re going to go ahead and restart this machine and we’re going to go on with f8 we’re going to start tape tapping up 8 when it restarts someone hit restart here and then there’s my FA here you’re reading starts happening I’m going to wait for it to start coming back off where I start tapping at all okay here we go tap DUP DUP okay okay you’ll get this screen up here and this is the screen that we’re going to go to to repair my computer here at the top there now if you don’t have this option on your computer that means that you’re going to have to use CD or DVD installation disk and if you don’t have those discs you’re going to have to get them from Dell or whatever manufacturer your computer that you have so again if you do not have this option on this up aid this boot option you’re going to have to use the install disc and you won’t be able to follow this technique that I’m going to show you next so let’s go ahead and hit this button that says repair your computer press ENTER now we are doing this on a Dell machine but this does work for other brands of computers you know such as HP and Acer knows time machines the buttons and options might be in slightly different areas or spots but it’s basically all the same how to restore these machines to factory settings okay I press that repair your computer and I’m just waiting for this next screen to come up it’s coming up now it’s asking me my keyboard input method I’m just going to with us on this one and then it’s asking me what account that I would like to access and if you click on this button here you can see that there’s two groups and the one that I want is this one here called barb and I’m around if there’s a password you need to enter it in here and I’m going to do that now so I’ll hang out for that okay I got this screen that came up next and it’s asking me what recovery tool I want to use and you can read on down through your all the different ones the one that we’re looking for is this bottom one here it’s the Dell data safe restore and emergency backup click that and then the next screen comes up they’re asking you how you would like to restore your computer and the first option is restore computer and preserve my new or change files and because we already backed up our data onto this hard drive over here we’re going to go with more options so we’re going to do a complete format so we’re going to choose this second one here you want to make sure that you choose this restore my computer next and then you can read on through here if you’d like but there’s the factory image that we’re after here looks like I have to highlight this and then hit next and then it’s asking me how I would like to do a system backup and if I would like to save my old files and again I already saved them on this hard drive over here so I’m going to choose the second one here we store without preserving thanks it says my computer is about to be restored all the data currently on the computer will be deleted and replaced ok I understand yes now if I had to made this backup over here you’d want to backup first it’s just let me know that everything on this computer will be gone so I say yes in next and it’s off it’s actually reformatting my hard drive and it’s reinstalling all the files this will take some time and as soon as something happens next I will do that you just got to be patient on this one well I just happen to walk by this and notice that it’s 99% complete so I figured I’d turn on the camera so I didn’t miss the next step you can see it’s still working there even though it is 99% so let’s just hang here for a minute and see what happens okay so came up it says recovery complete and there is a restart button here so let’s go ahead and do that click so it’s acting just like it was when this thing is first purchased and turned on its going to go through all the setup procedures and set up the desktop it’ll probably ask me for the clock settings and my username set up a password for me that’s worth them okay here’s where we answer our region and that’s worth that it’s going to go in next year but okay it’s asking me for a name I’m going to go ahead and use the same name that I came in on barb right there next now it’s asking me for a password how many is the password that she had provided me so I’m going to type that in I’ll be back and say okay I’ve got my password in there and I just have to accept the licensing terms there’s two there four ones here next and for now let’s just use the recommended settings set up your clock check the time make sure the calendar is correct Thanks you can join a wireless group here if you want to right now we’re just going to skip this because this is not my computer so this part of the process is just like if you were to turn it on for the first time when you purchase this computer as far as setting it up and getting windows going there’s nothing new here I’m going to go ahead and let this finish up and then when something needs to be said I’ll be back okay well I had to move tables because I have an internet connection on this table so I moved over here and started taking updates and you can tell that we’re still in the process of updating things but I’m going to go ahead and show you how I go ahead and put the data back on now so what we’re going to do is go ahead and plug in my hard drive that I previously saved all the data on tenth turn on get it in the USB for you all right just open the folder up here look down through here for my backup – then that would be this one and you can see if you remember when I first save this off there’s my barb and then there’s my shared items so you know I can just hit this transfer button and it will go ahead and put everything back on all right well the transfer has finished and you can click to see what’s been transferred here or you can click this button and this is very useful after you do one of these easy transfers if you click here you can see a list of programs that might be installed on your new computer that you would want to install and you can look on down through here and you see where it says here like Adobe Harris’s already installed so you know it it doesn’t reinstall applications that are external that are extra so I like to look on down through here and perhaps they’ll be some applications that I should be installing for my customer and you can see that this is the reason why a virus would not be transferred because it doesn’t transfer external programs at all and you know at some point she had Google Chrome on here now she doesn’t I won’t put that back on so you know I’m just looking through to make sure that there’s nothing that she’s missing and other than that this computer is now done you can see all our icons on the desktop look just like they did when I first started working on this the difference is that this machine now runs and runs well and the only thing left to do is go ahead and run this machine for a while and take all the updates from Microsoft you might want to visit the Microsoft software update page and make sure that everything is updated I’ll go through this list one more time and make sure there’s no programs that she needs to have installed before I give them back to her and I’ll install an anti-virus program to boot so that she’s safe and ready to go they don’t call the customer and tell her I come pick up her machine so if you need to restore your Dell operating system and save your data this is the way that I like to do it it’s a proven technique that’s worked over and over again for me very well so I hope you’ve enjoyed this video and gotten some use out of it please leave us a thumbs up and I’ll see you soon take care yourself bye for now hey guys this is Steve thanks for watching hey don’t forget to subscribe if you like this video and be sure to rate and comment see ya you
[WPXperVideo id=35 ]How to replace / upgrade the hard drive on your Dell Latitude E6330 Step by Step
[WPXperVideo id=18 ]otherwise this is built for a precision they have to die we’re going to show you how to get the hot rod how do I do latitude laptop alright this is gonna be fun right come on let’s go so getting a lot of guys up and ask me what is the it’s the most important tool that you have in your workshop while police you ask me that so I’ll tell you right now it’s a cup of coffee it’s got to be hot and black and strong let’s get started now this is a Dell e 72 40 latitude I believe now these are pretty nice bit of kit unfortunately though they don’t have a hard drive in them they have an SSD drive so the SSD drive in this machine has failed so we’re going to take it out and we’re going to get all the data of it because that’s what we do your precision and we’re very good at it alright let’s get started ok the very first thing we’re going to do is turn this bad boy over and we’re going to take the battery out of him simple as that new under here you’ll find two little screws one here and one here we’re going to remove those to flip the clamshell off now I always like to place my screws on the bench right where they came out in relation to the actual laptop now the reason I do that in this case is not too bad because there’s only two screws holding this one in but some of these laptops have got particularly a Mac they’ve got up to 16 screws holding the clamshell in so it’s always a good idea just to lay them out where you took them out so you’ll know where we’re to put them back in okay I’m just gonna slide this cover off like so and voila there you go everything is exposed and ready to go so here’s the RAM and here is the SSD drive that we’re going to remove and we’re going to recover the data problem so this drive is damaged so we’re going to have to use some specialist software to get the data off this and this girl that owns this will be very very happy because she’s a uni student and she needs all the data off it’s only one screw holding that in so we’re just going to pick it up pop it out like that and there it is that’s the SSD I think this one’s a 256 gig Oh alright let’s go and get the data off that right now alright so there you have a gank that’s how you take the drive out of one of these lovely little Dell laptops to upgrade the RAM and these these have two slots in them this one’s already got a four gig stick of RAM here in this slot so you can upgrade it to late gig by putting another porking stick of RAM here what I prefer to do though I’d rather run a single 8 gig stick so to get the RAM out pull the slots across and the RAM just pops straight out like that so there you go you blew two things today how to get the SSD drive out and how to get the RAM out ok I’m gonna go and recover the data off this Drive we’ll see you guys next time so there you have it boys it was as simple as that I hope you’ve learned something today they don’t begin if you’ve got a subject matter that you would like me to shoot a video there Probert down here in the comment section then let me know and I’ll see what I can do also gang I would like to direct your attention to our brand spanking new data recovery website there’s a link in the description on how to get to that now I actually built this site myself and I’m not an expert on website building let me tell you so I’d love you guys to go and check it out and let me know if there’s any typos or grammatical grandma facts for Grandma miss grandma grandma Clara cool you know what I’m trying to say if there’s any of those sort of errors in it alright guys I’m people Percy lobbyists see you next time yeah
[WPXperVideo id=13 ]everybody’s Steve on the Guru bro today I’m going to take you through the procedure for restoring to factory a dull laptop I get asked this question all the time and I think it’s best that customers learn how to do their own machines so here’s another one Dell laptop restore Windows 7 coming up okay I like to document how to restore computers whenever I have a chance to help others out there I’ve been doing this for years and you know it’s time that some users out there found out how to restore their own computer so if you’re at all interested I hope this video helps you I have other brands too you can look at my channel and find like Gateway and HP this one’s going to be about the dell inspiron this is an N 5050 and it’s a pretty common laptop that you might see here in a repair shop it has Windows 7 on it let’s go ahead and restore this computer I don’t have to save any of the data at all so I can just go for the restore I went ahead and plugged in my power cord already I’m going to go ahead and turn on the computer as soon as I turn on the computer I’m going to start tapping FA I’m doing that right now okay if you’ve done that right we’ll get this screen right here let me move my arrow so you can read what that says it’s repair your computer is the very top one that’s the one we’re going to go with okay go ahead and press ENTER now if this if this does not work if you do not have the repair your computer option you’re not going to be able to follow this tutorial any further and you’re going to have to go find yourself a restore desk okay alright for those of you that has it has has work you’ll arrive at this screen now this is going to take a few minutes to load up the main thing is just be patient and wait for it and I’ll be back as soon as my screen changes all right well that took a few minutes now my screen is stopped and it’s asking me a question it just wants me to put in the input method for my keyboard now this is the login that you used to use when this machine was before you started doing this so I need to log in with her credentials I’ll be back in just a moment all right I went ahead and put her password and then she gave me in this is the next thing it comes up the System Recovery Options you can look on down through here and read what all the different ones do the one we’re going to use will restore our Windows computer to factory state and it’s the very last one here now one more time I’m going to say this if you do not have this Dell data safe restore an emergency backup on your list then you can no longer follow this video you will have to get the CD or DVD discs that come from Dell to restore your computer that way instead of this one okay I have other videos about that subject on my channel if you wanna check them out anyway I’m going to go ahead and click on this one right here the Dell data safe restore an emergency backup click that now keep in mind that all this stuff takes time and sometimes it might look like your computer’s not doing anything but just leave it alone after you’ve clicked and allow it to come up and you see how long that took there okay so we’re at this next screen here and there’s several options that we can do the first one is to preserve newer change files I want to completely restore so I’m going to pick the second one select another system back up more options I’m gonna hit the next button here and I want to restore my computer which is right here next the list will come up and it tells me how I can restore my computer and there’s a factory image from when this machine was born Dell actually put this partition on there and it’s dated for two – 2012 at 11:43 a.m. so you can see when this machine came off the actual assembly line of Dell okay we’re going to go ahead and click them next here now keep in mind this is not going to save our files and if we have pictures or music on our computer this is going to erase all that so make sure you save that first okay one more question I’m going to restore without preserving this one next and it’s asking me to confirm it and it’s warning me that everything’s going to be deleted just like I had told you before it yes and next this is where we wait this takes some time this could take an hour could take two hours if it takes five hours or something wrong but it can take several hours okay I’ll be back this is getting ready to finish though I thought I’d go ahead and turn my camera on there’s only 1% left to go on this restore so let’s just wait a minute let’s see what happens here okay so there’s a restart button here click so you can see it’s going through all this setup prep and stuff really it might flicker on here for another few minutes I just don’t know I’ll be back as soon as it pass for another question okay well we’re getting there we started this Windows 7 setup came up so I’m just going to go ahead and click through next it’s asking for a username so I’m going to go ahead and put in the information that my customer gave me I’ll be back after that okay so I gave this computer a username and a password now it came up with s and I’m just going to answer this question for my time zone make sure the times correct which it’s not it’s time for tea something on these clocks really make sure that you hear time and data correct because if they’re not if it’s not correct you can have problems getting updates from windows and I’ve seen this happen before the computer just quits taking updates altogether just because this time of day clock was wrong so keep an eye on that next it’s asking me to join a wireless network and this is not my computer so I’m not going to do that now I’ll let my customer do that later we’re just going to skip that and I’m just going to give the network a name even though I didn’t do one looks like it’s gonna come up here I’m gonna go ahead and switch video memory cards in my camera I’ll be back in a second okay we’re still rolling along here I’m answering questions you have to agree to all this stuff before you can start using the product this is what I like to call blow wear stuff it they just blow our computers with stuff that we don’t even use so you can see this is just a lot of answering one question and then waiting 10 minutes answering another and wait and a half hour it’s really an apathetic as soon as something changes I’ll be back okay well it stopped again I have to hit the next key sometimes I wish they would just go ahead and do this for me without hitting the next key because you know it’s going to do it anyway now right now if you notice it’s gonna it’s trying to get me to install McAfee Security Center and that’s one of those programs that’s pretty personal and you don’t see a cancel or a skip or anything there’s just a next button which if I hit it it will install this McAfee let’s try the red X on that so that worked just fine now there’s something else behind here a dell staged updates available I’m just gonna cancel all this stuff and this is a Windows Update so I’m going to go ahead and take that so I have to restart now now yours might be different once you get to this point you just have to dummy up and follow through the questions I suppose and you’ll get a lot of this so anyway when I get a desktop image or something exciting happens I’ll I’ll be back all right well it looks like I’m just about done here hopefully this will be my last login before I can use the computer at this point I’ve gone ahead and connected the network Wi-Fi I’m sorry the Ethernet cable into the computer so this machine is still going to take downloads from Microsoft and Java and flash I’m sure Adobe so this is a really young install and you’re going to have to expect that you’re going to get you know updates constantly for like the first week and then you’re going to get stuff like this that you’re going to have to make go away this is that McAfee that I told I didn’t want it but I can go ahead and get rid of that in the control panel after I cancel out here Sam see they don’t even have a button where I can cancel out but what happens if I disagree disagree I’ve declined yep I am that’s one way to give her a mcafee I guess and I’ve got this box that popped up over here that wants me to create a set of backup desks for this machine and that is a good idea if you can create backup media for your machine that way if anything ever happens to the recovery partition you can use this to fix it but you’re going to have to have some blank DVDs on-hand and spend some time making these discs and you might need three or four of them just to finish install okay so that’s as far as I’m going to take you guys so that is another reinstall of Windows for a dull app top and you know I get asked to do this all the time I think it’s better if users can just do it themselves it’s it’s nothing hard if you just follow these steps so thanks for watching guys and I will talk to you later bye for now hey guys this is Steve thanks for watching hey don’t forget to subscribe if you like this video and be sure to rate and comment see ya you
[WPXperVideo id=9 ]hey guys how you doing it’s Steve on the Google brew hey so what do you do when your laptop or your desktop fails and you want pictures or music or some other important data off the hard drive in this edition of the guru brew I have an Acer Aspire in here for repair and the customer wants the photos off the machine so I’m going to have to physically take the hard drive out of the machine put it in a special rig that I have get its pictures and then put his hard drive back in the machine redo the operating system from scratch and then put his pictures all back on that’s coming up in this edition the guru brew hangout for that okay well here’s the Acer Aspire that I told you about that we’re going to be working on just for reference this is an Acer Aspire five two five oh be z87 three it has Windows seven it’s an AMD processor so I’ve already gone through checking this hard drive and the operating system is so damaged from a virus that it’s just not worth the time to try anymore to try to log into this operating system so what I’m going to do is physically take the hard drive right out of this machine right now put it in this little Ric that I have over here I’ll explain all this in a minute copyist pictures off the hard drive and then we turn them back on here as soon as this is restored here’s what the front of it looks like so before you fool around with laptops you you should always remove the battery that’s just something we should do there’s usually a little picture on the cover of what’s underneath it and this has a little picture of a ram stick and a hard drive so that’s my first food okay so there’s the hard drive poking up at me here right in the middle this little thing here’s your Wi-Fi okay over here is your RAM okay put your memory and this little battery right here is your bios battery and that keeps track of your time of date clock to keep it updated when there’s no power to this laptop that little battery keeps your time for you just like a watch battery so most of the newer laptops are SATA design so I can almost guarantee this one is going to be a SATA sometimes their screws hold and hold them in and sometimes there’s not you just have to kind of look at them figure it out so the hard drive after it took that screw out right through the slides this way we’re just going to set them left on the side of your person so usually okay this is the hard drive out of that laptop and it’s a 320 gig and the only reason why I took it out is to get big data the user data off your like I said in the beginning first thing I have to do is take this metal caddy off here and it’s just these screws you can see pulled it in on each side you can see that this bracket has like a little plastic membrane so we’re just going to put that aside for now – okay well this little Frankenstein thing is what we use to copy drives data this is a USB enclosure that my boy bought some time back that had a hard drive in it and you could read a hard drive through USB here and since then we’ve taken the cover off and I don’t think the covers been back on over a year because we use it for this purpose now but you can slide a a small SATA hard drive from a laptop in there where you can go with the full size and you can see how it just sets in there what so this is how we’re doing it were physically taking the laptop from or I’m sorry the harddrive from the laptop that was giving us problems and we’re just going to copy it with my machine here I’ve got my HP here ready to go I’m going to go ahead and turn it on and get ready to copy these files onto some removable memory so hang on for that in the big PC power supply on the bottom is just an old power supply that we use now to run this box because it needs to study 5 volts and this did come with a wall wart but my boy gave it away so that are sometimes so anyway we’re using this one here so this is the shop laptop that we use here for copying files we’ll run stuff like that it just kind of sits here does nothing a lot of times so you can see the enclosures on looks like we have some activity so it looks like the drive is now being read by the operating system this laptop is older HP Babylon and it has XP on but runs just fine I recently restored the operating system raka it was roughly slow ok let’s go ahead and we’re just going to poke around inside this folder for the hard drive and see what I have here there’s a user file here so he has two folders he has one that says Morgan and one that says public and I bet you I know why he has a virus on this machine that first one was sa frostwire isn’t that like a pure sharing network but you can always get viruses from I think so anyway that’s what I’m going to copy here’s those pictures so this is what he wanted me to save for him so yes so let’s go ahead and back this up and check how much space we’re going to need on the hard drive I’m backing up til I get to the users and I’m going to go ahead and just do a right click on this and go to properties and see how much space that says I need it’s adding it up I apologize for the filming of the screen I know it’s not a good idea to do but in these kind of cases I really don’t have a another way to do it so I know I’m going to need at least a gig and a half maybe two gigs maybe more I’m going to let this run a second until I calculate so much I need and then I’ll be back ok so it’s done estimating and it came out with like 37.9 gig so I’m going to go ahead and just put it on my desktop here I just made an empty folder I’m going to go back over to the folder of the hard drive which is here our users right click I’m going to copy that ok then I’m going to open up my empty folder that I made and paste this then paste it in I’m probably gonna have to wait till this is all done and then copy this over onto another external I hate to do that but I don’t have a thumb drive that’s 40 gig big so that’s all I have to do it alright we got a ways here for this copy it’s going to take a while ok well I’m gonna leave you with that that is how you would take a hard drive out and get the data off and then copy it on to another device in this case I just copied it onto the out layout and then eventually when I fixed the computer I hooked the laptop back up to it and removed the data back over and the customer was happy I wanted to show you these enclosures I have one of them open on the table and this is the exact one that was open but this is what it looks like when you buy them we paid about 45 dollars for this one this is a USB SATA Drive it’s just an enclosure normally these don’t come with hard drive and although we paid 40 or 45 we just recently looked this up and you can get it for as low as $20 which is a great value we also have this is the SATA model we also have an IDE model for those older drives and this is what that enclosure looks like you can see this has had a rough life most of the time we don’t have these cases on them we just take them right out of enclosure like this let’s see the hard drive just sit in there there’s a power cable and then it slides up onto these pins see there and this is also a USB device here so there’s one other way of course and that would be with a desktop computer if you have a ribbon cable inside such as this you can put a drive on each of these these pins and [WPXperVideo id=1 ]All right everyone, welcome to Tomahawk DIY. today we’ll be taking a look at
accessing the hard drive on a Dell Inspiron laptop. First, you want to make sure the computer has been disconnected
of all peripheral devices, unplugged the power cable, remove the battery. Once you’ve removed the battery, push the power button to be sure to
discharge any residual electricity within the computer
and then we’ll access the hard drive by removing screw and then use your fingers to pull up this panel that takes a little
bit of force and once you get under it you’ll start hearing
clicking as you pop off the latches until finally you can remove this entire panel.
Here’s the RAM module. You can see my other video on installation
of that RAM. to get the hard drive out, you’ve got a
tab here you can see the connectors and some screws
holding things in place. So we’re going to start by moving these screws simply with a small Phillps screwdriver. To remove the hard drive assembly use this
tab and kind of pull on this bracket to work the hard drive you’re disconnecting
over here. Then, you’ll use the tab to lift it out.
Slide it out. once you have the hard drive assembly free you can now use your Philips screwdriver, we’re going to make a little space here. Simply unscrew these four screws from the frame.
Be careful not to lose your hard drive or drop it in the
process. Also, use care and caution on what you’re holding onto, obviously. Try not to
touch anything that might get damaged and you’ll eventually have the hard drive
