Dell Inspiron 7000 (7568) Hard Drive / RAM Upgrade / Removal / Replacement / Break Down Procedures

[WPXperVideo id=111 ]today we’re going to do a hard drive upgrade on a Dell Inspiron 15 7000 series this specific model is model seven five six eight it’s probably similar on other models that are similar to this one but this specific model that’s the information for it so this one the battery’s internal so you can’t just simply remove the battery but what you can do is remove this bottom panel these are standard Phillips head screws so I’m going to use a standard Phillips head screwdriver and go ahead and remove all these screws on the bottom you’re going to remove one two three four five six seven eight nine ten now that the screws are removed we’re going to pop this bottom cover off normally you would use a spudger which I don’t have so I’m going to try using a a giftcard slash credit card you’re going to want to gently separate the space between the bottom cover and the frame of the notebook I normally try to find a space that’s already got a bit of an opening to work with like over by the USB ports so I’ll use my credit card or gift card whatever you’re using to try to separate the space here in between the HDMI port and the frame like so okay and then as you do that you work your way around let’s start to pop off take your time do it nice and gently no rush and it will come off just work your way all the way around the entire laptop got most of it off now except for the back area here and there you go that removes the cover the back cover or a bottom cover I should say you and here you’ll find you have the memory swap and over here is the hard drive today we’re upgrading the hard drive if you want to upgrade the memory though it’s pretty simple it’s right here just simply remove that memory replace it with whatever you’re going to upgrade it with this specific model comes with an 8 gig stick it could probably upgrade it to 16 but I haven’t verified that yet now under normal circumstances I would say to disconnect the battery before proceeding however in my case since I’m just doing the hard drive I’m going to be very careful not to touch any parts of the circuit board with my tools and I’m simply going to remove this hard drive and upgrade it with a new one without disconnecting the battery you can choose to do so if you like if you’re worried that you might short something out it would definitely be a good idea to remove the battery I’ve done this enough time so I feel confident I can do this without removing the battery to remove the hard drive you’re going to remove this screw here we’re also going to remove this screw here there’s also a third screw right back here that you need to remove now that although all three of those screws are removed you should be able to simply lift up on this hard drive carefully and pull out the data cable behind it carefully again like so now to swap out this hard drive I’m going to swap it out with an SSD specifically have a crucial m500 I’ll be replacing it with it’s lowering capacity but as you probably know with an SSD you’re gaining greatly in procurements so you simply remove these four screws and you’re going to want to put the hard drive back in this little caddy that it’s in the exact same way so I’m going to go ahead and remove the screws now I’m going to move my laptop to the side so it’s not the drop any screws in it okay now if those four screws are removed this sort of kind of like caddy comes right off and if you look at the way the hard drives put in you simply put the new hard drive in the exact same way and reattach your screws okay hard drive is installed in the caddy now we just simply reverse our procedures on the installation or for the installation by doing the following so I’m going to move my hard drive to the side bring my laptop back in place okay and we’re going to reattach the data cable as so now we’re going to gently place our hard drive back in place lining it up with the same screw holes you should feel it snap into place so to say and we’re going to use our same screws that we removed earlier to reattach it to the chassis of the laptop that concludes the installation of the hard drive so we’re going to carefully grab our lid it’s not really like the bottom but we’re going to carefully put this back in place on the motherboard making sure that no cables or wires are sticking out which in my case there is not I feel comfortable placing this cover back on and basically it just snaps in place so you’re simply going to snap it in place all the way around like so okay and then check your check all the way around make sure it looks like it’s sealed properly no gaps in my case it looks good so I’m going to go ahead and replace the screws there again there are ten of them finish putting your screws in power up and start your operating system and you should be good to go thanks for watching you

Dell Inspiron 1000 Repair ★Geeking Off★

[WPXperVideo id=69 ]today we’re gonna repair a dell inspiron 1000 so client came to me and said his laptop is not booting well he’s right it’s not booting I told him I would fix it if I could go ahead and make a video out of it is that sure sure deal so let’s go ahead and look at this Inspiron it’s actually in really good condition got two speakers in the front here on the back here we’ve got three USB ports Ethernet phone jack modem heatsink which is really clean and VGA port on this side we’ve got the DVD CD rewritable Drive kind of neat and here I believe is the battery let’s go ahead and hook up the power adapter and see what’s wrong with it okay the machine is now got power let’s go ahead and turn it on and see what goes on you can hear everything spin up so that’s a good sign right well it’s interesting it hits the right about here and this is work freezes up you can’t f2 it you can’t have 12 it it is done so let’s go ahead and see if we can at least try to beat it into the BIOS it won’t even turn off I’m been sitting here holding this power button for a while it’s not turn it off okay this time we’re gonna try to enter set up see if this we can get at least get into the BIOS maybe we can reset it and train set up and we’re locked up again darn darn darn darn okay we’ve got to figure out what’s going on here so let’s start taking parts out of it we’ll start with the hard drive because that’s what JD Hart 89 suggested that we take out the hard drive I believe this might be the hard drive in here let’s go ahead and start unscrewing stuff yep there’s a hard drive some more screws go figure it was really in there aha got it that thing did not want to budge that was a very difficult hard drive so you can a hard drive we’re dealing with here we’ve got a Fujitsu it’s a size I think oh there it is right there 40 gigabytes okay with the hard drive out of it let’s try this again try to enter that set up this time train set up nope she is locked up stall it again shoot and the only way to power it off I have to unplug it alright let’s try the RAM next believe this beer RAM slot let’s go ahead and get that RAM out of there shall we and for RAM this machine is rockin oh wow just DDR 256 megabits my goodness wonder what the CPU of this thing is okay let’s try this again no hard drive no RAM let’s get into that BIOS there we go mouna truth come on baby drink setup come on come on nope whew that time the power works okay so maybe we’re getting somewhere maybe it was the RAM but for some reason well we’ll just see if it you know yells at me here okay it’s just as entering boot menu and isn’t doing anything it’s just you know the power switch is not gonna work it’s gonna make a liar out of me alright what else can we remove the optical drive let’s try the optical I can’t optical drive is now removed let’s go ahead and see what happens to enter setup fortunately locked up saw it again Wow I think this thing’s got some major problems might be the CPU might be the CPU which that might be a difficult repair I don’t even know if I can get a CPU for this thing well this fix is a fail well I just did some research on Google and someone said did you try removing the battery there yet if this if this seriously happens I’m gonna be flipping weirded out by this I’ve never only cows a big battery okay let’s see if that Google post was right and remove the battery let’s see if we can get in to set up this time I’ll be damned well I’ll be damned you serious right now out of all my times of working on computers I have never seen anything like this where the battery was causing the BIOS to free the BIOS to freeze up never have I seen that before but while we’re here let’s go ahead and take a look at her it’s an Inspiron 1000 looks like it’s the CMOS battery is definitely a holding time although the date is definitely not correct looks like the CPU is an Intel Celeron running at 2.2 gigahertz 256 mega height server ham running at 266 megahertz it’s got a 14-inch xga display well let’s go ahead and put all the parts into this and see if she boots well turn it on with everything in there but the battery and she booted right on into the operating system although I don’t think I should explore this computer very much seems to be some interesting files on this dude’s computer anyways yeah that was an easy fix he just needs to go and buy a new battery and this is one heck of a heavy battery – Wow so yeah he just needs to order a new battery and he can get back to his uh interesting habits that he has going on here well guys that ends this video as you can see that was an easy repair an easy fix thank God so this has been Anthony from ahem to where and from this time and every time on folks keep on clickin thes Anthony for math we’re signing off you

Dell: Inspiron 14R-N4010 Hard Drive Replace / Dis-assembly – Part 2

[WPXperVideo id=68 ]all right so I know you couldn’t wait to get back to this I had a customer stop in he forgot his power supply yesterday and dropped it by and then you know a couple cause is that whatever blah blah blah so anyway look so I can ready take this apart all right at least take the motherboard out right here the Wi-Fi connects like a little slot chip thing and that’s what it’s hooked on right now so you have to try to gently pop that up let’s see there we go that’s out great you want to keep that in mind when you put it back together – and now we finally access the hard drive I know that’s what we are all impatient and waiting for well it’s a long enough and we really have to do to get this off of the motherboard there’s two screws to visit just to screws here on the side for the hard drive assembly stuff whatever and that’s really all there is to that part and that just slides right out of there now we just have to change the hard drive awesome this should be loose usually it’s like a tight fit but then you know you play with a little bit in there you guys good four of these two on each side of course and that’s uh-oh that those four screws keep them right there well whatever you want to place them that’s not right there hard drive up to the side that’s a that’s a good Drive it works it’s our test drive here we go to put the new Drive back take that out of its little plastic any stetic bag make sure this will go on in the right place how did this go again I forgot already of great memory like this if I do remember it correctly well to make sure to be folder go back on place I wonder are you here for my gaming videos or are you here from this video will you stick around for my gaming videos of me sucking at video games is it possible and I think that’s how it goes maybe yep that is exactly how it goes should I only not to move it anywhere from there but I mean I it you know whatever here we go now you can put it back together the fun part the most exciting part the part you tuned in for putting it back together okay so more [Music] on each side you know whatever it’ll be easier to work with cool that harddrive goes back into place why the did they create it like this in fact it would be great if there is designer commented on this why are you idiot and why did you design it this way not everybody is going to ship it back to Dao and why would you want to put your own technical people through this hassle it’s like you can possibly break many other things in the process of you know getting back to where you got to replace us at there should be a little panel here go look at other laptop designs there should be no reason have to take the entire motherboard out I might have damaged something in the process of this and I hope I did not I don’t think I did I don’t want to this goes back into place make sure it all lines up all that good stuff um I think that is good make sure this isn’t place down here let’s go yes let’s make sure this is all in here there we go now that should work let’s see there we go good it’s in place [Music] that should be in place let’s see about the rest of everything that doesn’t go in yet this nope this goes in next and putting it back together hopefully I can put it back together in a better record amount of time than I took it apart but also at the same time you do not want to rush this take your time take some patience take a chill pill whatever the works for you and put this together correctly so that it still works when you turn it back on I was glad it was working when I last put it together so let’s make sure it works again this time when I put it together this time as I said before all these screws are the same size so they should all be the same size that may or may not fool you I don’t think a screw goes there not screws don’t go everywhere on this board actually I think some of them actually caught from the bottom as well and that’s more than likely a case because they obviously have to hold on the top panel stuff that goes up here usually where it indicates stuff like these numbers be 8 9 7 B 4 B 3 B 6 B 5 B 1 B 2 B yeah that’s usually where the screws go I did actually find it kind of interesting that um when I was looking into how to work on this thing because you know before we work on a customer’s computer if it’s a model we have not played with before we want to make sure we’re taking it apart and putting it together correctly so this screwed right here the ground for the LCD screen I want to assume it actually wanted the person who made the forum the forum post about it documenting it working on it this screw was completely stripped it was stripped he really you know it was I mean he still worked on it afterward but that screw it was just a mess to deal with for that person but he got it working good for him his girlfriend’s happy but I don’t know that person personally myself it was just you know something that came up with Google and pointed me to a forum about it documented with pictures that hey buddy where’s your videos this will be my first video of doing something like this other videos I’ve taken apart stuff I’m going to do an unboxing video let me see that is all the screws for that I think I did not miss anything that’s he did i I do not think I did that’s awesome tricky part here the drive I trouble getting it out without pulling the panel stuff off this is ready to go back on so that’s what I’m going to do now like I said you want to watch how everything goes back together too
